Handling peer pressure on salary

Very recently i got a good hike and promotion. I am happy with that as the hike in percentage terms looks quite good. However, when i checked others salary in same designation , I am surprised. They are getting atleast 20% more tha me. Some people, who also got promotion with me, are taking low grade tactics (eg. threatening to quit job, buttering) to increase their CTC by almost 10-15%. I am not sure what to do? Should I ask my boss again for a hike 6 months down the line? or should i also follow the same tactics as others (which i personally found against my ethics)? its creating a lot of stress coz i am feeling left out and underpaid.

Dear Fighter
You should not compromise on your code of ethics.

But if you are feeling that you are paid less as compared to your peers I suggest that you have an informal discussion with your boss to understand the rationale behind the salary hike. Sometimes it can be a false alarm as well.

If you are happy with the work that you do and the salary compensation, I would personally not take too much stress about the situation. You can always search for a better paying job anytime!
