How to decide if it is time to leave your current workplce

How do I know if leaving my current workplace is a good decision? How do I know for sure if my workplace is not working out for me. I have been unhappy at work for the last one year and have been facing health issues due to the stress and the loneliness but wonder if leaving would mean I just gave up. Or maybe changing the company won't help as I may face the same issues elsewhere. The company I work is good but the team I work in isn't. And changing teams seems difficult. But I feel I am not thriving in this company. Can you please help?

Dear RX123:

The issue that you have highlighted is something that we ALL confront at some point in our career. Are we giving up? Is changing a job the right thing to do?

There are some common indicators of job stress:
1. Requesting for leave from work frequently
2. Little or no interest in work
3. Little or no communication with Boss/ colleagues
4. Feeling depressed/bored all the time/ work is a burden
5. You are moody, irritable or impatient over small things

If answers to all these questions are "YES", you should look out for a job change because this can impact your health. A new environment can mean a new beginning and you can start with a clean slate.

I would also suggest that you look at some other vital factors:
1. Are you appreciated for the work that you do?
2. Is your equation with your manager good?
3. Are you an introvert?

If the answers to all these questions are 'YES', then you would need to work on yourself and I suggest that you read this article on Fixer Talk by pasting this link in your browser:

Hope this helps. Best of Luck!
